Krakatoa is a non-profit grassroots music venue, committed to supporting the local music scene. This place has been hosting concerts since 1965, and has been run by a non-hierarchal worker cooperative since 2017.
We’re passionate about live music and are dedicated to providing musicians with access to state of the art facilities. We champion fair pay for artists, and allocate performers 100% of the admission receipts from their grassroots shows.
For less than £1 a week, our Krakhead subscribers enable us to livestream and record these concerts, help local artists develop their online presence via Bandcamp and to to more effectively monetise their music.
